14/09/2008 Hexen II map update
Games | Hexen II

I know it's been a while but my first Hexen II map is about 95% finished. I'm planning to make a small project of about 4 maps, let's say a full hub. There's nothing much else to say since I've only just started on my second level, but here's a little teaser. :-)

15/08/2008 My first Spore creature
Games | Spore

I guess almost everyone knows what Spore is by now. The official game is yet to be released and already more than 2.700.000 creatures are uploaded to the Sporepedia by now, so I thought: why the hell not, let's make a creature and see what all the fuzz is about. After a couple of minutes of playing around with the creature creator, I understood why this is so popular. You can let your mind go wild because the editor offers tons of possibilities, so every creature is unique in some way.

Enough about the game, Here's a little more info about my first creature. I made a combination between a crocodile and a dinosaur. (Yes I know, weird stuff ;-)). It's entirely created with just the demo version of Spore Creature Creator so choices were a bit limited since the demo version offeres only 25% of all available options but I must say it turned out well.

This is just something I did in between to get my mind off of Hexen II for a while because I'm currently lacking a bit of inspiration. ;-)

You can check it out in the Sporepedia here, or take a look at the image below.

If you happen to stop by at the Sporepedia, please consider rating my creature. Thank you! :-)

10/04/2008 New Hexen II map in progress
Games | Hexen II

I've just started on my first Hexen II level. Since these are my first steps into the world of true 3D editing, it may take me a while to complete the level because I have alot of things to learn during the development process. So far I've been able to recreate that beautiful arch with those roses you see when you play the first level of Hexen II, which means I've got plans to make something nice out of it ;-).

Now, you're probably asking why I've chosen such an old game to make maps for. Well the reasons are quite simple: I've always wanted to make a level for Hexen II because the game remains beautiful and fun to play because of the wide variety of textures and monsters that are included. Also, and not unimportant, the game uses a modified Quake engine, meaning that it's fairly easy to begin with.

If you don't know what kind of game Hexen II is (shame on you!), you can find more information along with some nice screenshots at RavenSoft.com.
